Five of Friday: week 2 of 2018

Welcome back to another fun week of Five on Friday; thank you for stopping by.

I officially have started back into the new year full swing.  I had a light couple of weeks and now it's back to the grind.

I pulled out my second UFO challenge(All People Quilt) and have started getting the borders on January's project.  The link(unaffiated) takes you to the All People Quilt's website and gives some more information.

Below is my quilt as the borders are starting to go on.  Please ignore the two identical blocks sitting next to each other.  I realized it after the borders went on and now I need to figure out how to fix this error-grrr.

We had rain Monday evening which pretty much  washed away a good portion of the snow in our city.  Yes, it made for some hairy mornings of black ice, but the temps have been creeping back up to somewhat more tolerable and I've been loving every second of getting to spend time outside without my nose running constantly.  We might have gone through several boxes of tissues these past few weeks from runny noses due to this frigid cold.

I finished my second quilt last Friday evening.  I do have a blog post about the details, but it's scheduled for later this month.  Stay tuned.  It's headed to my dear friend's house for her new baby boy.

I'm headed to a new restaurant this evening with my family and can't wait to try it out.  Richmond has some amazing food and beverages(hello breweries!!) and I love trying new places.  I'll report back next week.

-Until next time

  1. The quilt you made looks fantastic. I've always wanted to learn how to make a quilt, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

    1. You should!! Quilting is not only fun for me, but good and cheap therapy. I can sit and see for hours and it’s very relaxing. Even in the midst of a busy pattern.
